Police Dog Attack Video Shows North Carolina Cop Shove Dog In Suspect's ...

A video shows a police officer thrusting an attack dog into the car of a suspect who appears to be trying to surrender.

The graphic footage, which can be seen above, was released on Monday by New Hanover County, N.C. District Attorney Ben David. The D.A. investigated the incident and brought it to a grand jury to determine if Wilmington police officer Stafford Brister should be charged with assault inflicting serious injury, according to the Star News.

"I believe that it was a close enough legal question that the community should get to decide that the use of force was reasonable and that I would not rule it a matter of law that it was," David said.

The incident happened at the end of a dramatic chase between authorities and alleged drunk driver, Johnnie Williams on October, 31. The chase began when Williams allegedly tried to escape a DUI checkpoint.

The video shows Brister, "lifting his police dog and forcing it through the driver's side window right into the driver's lap," according to WECT.

Williams has his hands raised in apparent surrender when the dog is pushed into the car. He suffered lacerations to his face.

Brister is still on administrative leave as an internal investigation continues.

Williams told WWAY he didn't deserve what happened to him.

"I didn't do anything forceful against the officers. I didn't not do anything," Williams said. "I stopped and I gave up my rights and I tried holding up my hands."

#Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 Plane Crash: 2 killed, Dozens Unaccounted fo...

SAN FRANCISCO -- An Asiana Airlines flight from Seoul, South Korea, crashed while landing at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday, killing at least two people, injuring dozens of others and forcing passengers to jump down the emergency inflatable slides to safety as flames tore through the plane.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Laura Brown said Flight 214 crashed while landing at 11:26 PDT. A video clip posted to YouTube showed smoke coming from a jet on the tarmac. Passengers could be seen jumping down the emergency slides.

Television footage showed the top of the fuselage was burned away and the entire tail was gone. One engine appeared to have broken away. Pieces of the tail were strewn about the runway. Emergency responders could be seen walking inside the burned-out wreckage.

Stephanie Turner saw the plane going down and the rescue slides deploy, but returned to her hotel room before seeing any passengers get off the jet, she told ABC News. Turner said when she first saw the flight she noticed right away that the angle of its approach seemed strange.

"It didn't manage to straighten out before hitting the runway," she said. "So the tail of the plane hit the runway, and it cartwheeled and spun and the tail broke off ... I mean we were sure that we had just seen a lot of people die. It was awful.

"And it looked like the plane had completely broken apart," she said. "There were flames and smoke just billowing."

Doug Yakel, a spokesman for the airport, said he did not yet know how many passengers were aboard the flight. "We also don't have any information at this time to the status of those passengers," he said at a brief news conference.

Rachael Kagan, a spokeswoman for San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, told KCBS radio in San Francisco that 10 passengers had been taken to the hospital - two children and eight adults, all in critical condition.

A call to the airline seeking comment wasn't immediately returned.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it was sending a team of investigators to San Francisco to probe the crash. NTSB spokeswoman Kelly Nantel said Saturday that NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman would head the team.

Boeing said it was preparing to provide technical assistance to the NTSB.

Asiana is a South Korean airline, second in size to national carrier Korean Air. It has recently tried to expand its presence in the United States, and joined the Star Alliance, which is anchored in the U.S. by United Airlines.

More than 60 passengers were also unaccounted for, said San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White. It wasn't immediately clear where they were, but she said they weren't all presumed dead at this time.

"This is a work in progress," she said, adding the investigation has been turned over to the FBI and that terrorism has been ruled out. She said at least 48 people were initially transported from the scene to area hospitals.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Flight 214 crashed while landing before noon PDT. A video clip posted to YouTube showed smoke coming from a jet on the tarmac. Passengers could be seen jumping down the emergency slides.

It wasn't immediately clear what happened to the plane as it was landing, but some eyewitnesses said the aircraft seemed to lose control and that the tail may have hit the ground.

Aaron Hernandez Girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins: Will FiancĂ©e Seek Baby’s Full Custody?

Aaron Hernandez and his girlfriend, Shayanna Jenkins, had it made. They lived in a beautiful home in North Attleboro, Mass. and recently welcomed a baby girl. Aaron just inked a $40 million 5-year deal with the New England Patriots... and he proposed to his longtime love. In an instant, things went terribly wrong... or did they? On June 29, LA Late reported that Jenkins was kept in the dark of her beau's double life and that she might seek full custody of the couple's baby girl. Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend has been under a microscope since this case began. People want to know how she feels and what she thinks about all of this. Were her tears in court because she was "tricked" by the man she loved or was she simply realizing that her life will never be the same as it was?As LA Late points out, the couple lived together -- so did Shayanna just turn a blind eye to all of the guns in the house? And what about Aaron's late night club jaunts?
People are finding it very hard to believe that Shayanna Jenkins didn't know what her beau was up to. She has been questioned by police a few times and those questions could keep coming. If she knew anything about what happened to Odin Lloyd, could she wind up getting arrested too?
Aaron Hernandez has put his girlfriend in a tight spot. There are a lot of questions surrounding her and where she goes from

#Hawthorne Police Shoot Killing Dog While Arresting Owner (Caught on Cam...

A video of police shooting a dog to death in front of its owner has gone viral after being posted to Reddit Monday afternoon.

The dog owner, Leon Rosby, was taking video of police officers in Hawthorne, Calif. as they barricaded a house, CBS reports.

Another bystander behind Rosby was recording him, and can be heard saying that Rosby asked the police why there weren't any black cops present. This drew the attention of two Hawthorne police officers, who started to approach Rosby.

Rosby can then be seen putting his dog, which looks like a Rottweiler, into his car and voluntarily putting his hands behind his back to be arrested. As he was being handcuffed by the officers, the dog started barking and jumped out of the car.

As the dog approached the officers, barking, the police shot the dog several times. Police said they had no choice but to shoot as the dog lunged towards them.

"It looks like the officer tried to reach down and grab the leash, and then the dog lunges in the direction of him and the other officers there," Hawthorne police Lt. Scott Swain said to the Daily Breeze. "And I know it's the dog's master, and more than likely not going to attack him, (but) we've got a guy handcuffed that's kind of defenseless. We have a duty to defend him, too."

Rosby's attorney, Michael Gulden, told CBS that he plans to file a lawsuit against the Hawthorne Police Department. He said the incident took place at 137th Street and Jefferson.

The bystander uploaded the video of Rosby's arrest and the dog's death, undated, to YouTube on June 30.

Two hours after it was posted to Reddit, the video had 32,000 upvotes, but the comments were disabled because of Reddit's rule against, "witch-hunting or or incitement to witch hunt. This means no demanding 'Reddit justice' in any way in post titles or comments."
